This Pentek 163009 UVBB-120-1 1-1/2" Ultraviolet System controls microbes in drinking and industrial process water as a supplement to other sterilization methods. It provides a germicidal dose (16,000 microwatt-seconds per square centimeter) of ultraviolet (UV) light at a wavelength of 254 nanometers (nm) to disrupt the microbes’ reproductive process. The Big Blue sump and cap with 1-1/2" connections are made of polypropylene for strength and resistance to corrosion and chemicals, and the sump has a stainless steel insert sleeve for greater durability and microbe reduction. A quartz sleeve protects the UV lamp. The voltage-regulated control module adjusts lamp output, and the entire system can be securely mounted using the wall bracket. The nitrile butadiene rubber (Buna-N) O-rings ensure a watertight seal. The system has a recommended flow rate of 15 gallons per minute (gpm), a maximum operating pressure of 65 pounds per square inch (psi), and an operating temperature range of 40 to 100 degrees F (4.4 to 37.8 degrees C).
